M, 10/21 - Discuss Problem Solution Essay. Develop a thesis statement which we will be discussing on W, 10/23. Read articles in Bacon book on pp. 302-303.

Problem/Solution Essay. Analyze a problem in Shakespeare's plays in general or pick one specific play. Then, synthesize a solution as your personal opinion. Please follow the suggestions found in the Bacon book pp. 303 - 305. This paper should be 2-4 pages long. Thesis statement is due Wednesday, Oct. 23. First draft is due F, 11/15. Final draft is due F, 11/21.

Homework: Finish reading Act IV and Act V of Twelfth Night.

T, 10/22 - Discuss Act IV and Act V of Twelfth Night.

Homework: 5 Quotations for Twelfth Night. Due, W, 10/23. Also, bring your thesis ideas for your problem/solution essay.

W. 10/23 - Quotations are due. We will discuss problem/solution essay thesis ideas.

M, 10/28 - Fun Day - Twelfth Night. Charades of an act and possible Shakespeare insults.

Homework: Read Henry , Act I and II. Due F, 11/1.

T, 10/29 - History of Henry V

W, 10/30 - Shaping and drafting your paper (Bacon, pp. 410-411). Streamlining your prose (pp. 70-71).

TH, 10/31 - Halloween. Watch Henry V.

F, 11/1 (B) - Discuss Henry V, Act I and Act II.
